The Movement for the Actualization of Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) has disowned Nnamdi Kanu, Director of the pirate station, Radio Biafra, who was reportedly arrested on Sunday by the Department of State Security (DSS).

Leader of the group, Chief Ralph Uwazuruike who spoke through MASSOB’s Assistant Director of Information, Mr. Sunday Okereafor, in Owerri, Imo State, described Kanu as a rebel who had long been expelled by MASSOB for inciting violence among members.

“Kanu’s arrest has nothing to do with the struggle for a sovereign state of Biafra,” the MASSOB leader stated.

On Kanu’s reported arrest, the DSS is yet to confirm the arrest of Mr. Kanu as at the time of filling in this report.
