Ex-Governor Orji Kalu Looted Abia- Aide

In a revelation made by Mr. Romanus Madu, according to Sahara Reporters a cashier to Mr. Orji Uzor Kalu as Governor of Abia State, on Monday testified in Court that fictitious names were used to request and divert several millions of naira from Government House accounts in 2005. Mr. Madu was testifying today at the resumed trial of Mr. Kalu at the Federal High Court in Lagos for an alleged N2.9bn fraud. Violent crimes in Ebonyi Frightening- APC

The Ebonyi state chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, on Monday has expressed concern over the frightening rate of crime in the state.   The Chairman of the party, Mr. Eze Nwachukwu, said the spate of violent crime, including armed robbery, kidnapping, abduction, rape, murder, in the state were worrisome. Ambode Bans Transport Union

The Lagos state government has banned the activities of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in Oshodi area of the state. This follows the violence that led to the death of Rasaq Bello, a leader of Motorcycle Operators’ Association of Lagos State (MOALS) in Oshodi, popularly known as Hamburger. The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has received various petitions as a fallout of the party Chairmanship and Councillorship primaries held recently in the state.
